What is a catch-all domain?

A catch-all (accept-all) domain’s mail server accepts RCPT TO for addresses that do not necessarily have a mailbox. The claim is cannot distinguish: the server cannot tell this mailbox from any other. That is not a confirmed mailbox and not an invalid mailbox. It is not Valid, and it is not “dangerous.”

NexiphorVerifier keeps the status Risky. It will not mark them Valid to make a list look cleaner. Accepted-but-not-confirmed is a different claim. Mailbox-full is not the same as absent.

Exporting catch-alls on purpose

If you opt in, the Valid + catch-all export preset (valid_and_safe_catchall) includes catch-all addresses by explicit policy. Their Status remains Risky — catch-all is domain behavior, not mailbox confirmation. Score is not a safety probability.
